In most cases, we require a physical vehicle title as proof of ownership. We cannot accept photocopies or pictures of titles. We can accept the following types of Texas titles:Blue– Clear TitleBrown– Certified Copy of TitlePurple/Pink– Salvage TitleOrange– Non-Repairable Vehicle Title. Titles must be properly assigned and signed by the owner listed on the front of the title. If you are unsure where to sign, our tow truck drivers can assist you when they arrive. We cannot accept a title that has already been signed over to another buyer or agent in the “Assignment of Title” section on the back of the title. We may also be able to accept titles from other U.S. states, as well as Mexico and Canada. Please contact our Car Buying Department for more information.

If you have lost your title, you may apply with the State of Texas for aCertified Copy of Title(Brown Title). In certain situations, Wrench-A-Part may still be able to purchase your vehicle without a title if you are the current registered owner. Contact our Car Buying Department to see if you qualify.

Wrench-A-Part pays for vehicles with a certified business check. The check can be made payable to whomever you choose and can typically be cashed at most businesses that offer check-cashing services.

As long as the vehicle is within the service area of one of our Wrench-A-Part locations and is accessible to our tow trucks, we should be able to pick it up. Examples of inaccessible locations include: inside garages, under low carports, behind locked gates, in difficult-to-access side or back yards. For the safety of our drivers, Wrench-A-Part does not pick up vehicles located on the side of major roadways or highways (residential neighborhood streets excluded). At this time, we also cannot pick up vehicles located inside tow yards or impound facilities due to complications involving storage and towing fees.

Yes. Someone who is at least 18 years old must be present at the time of pick-up to complete the transaction, hand over the title, and receive payment. If you are unable to be present, we may still be able to complete the pickup if a trusted individual is available on your behalf and all ownership documentation has been properly signed in advance.

We recommend removing your license plates and all personal belongings from the vehicle before the tow truck arrives. If license plates are left on the vehicle, Wrench-A-Part will properly dispose of them; however, we are not responsible for any toll charges incurred while transporting the vehicle to our facility. Please note that we cannot guarantee the recovery or retention of any personal belongings left inside the vehicle after pickup.
